Job Description

Primrose Bio, a biotechnology company developing innovative therapeutics, vaccines, and manufacturing tools, is seeking full-time Research Associates, Senior Research Associates, or Assistant Scientists with hands-on lab experience to advance multiple programs focused on mRNA sequence element design and in vitro mRNA manufacturing innovations.

The company is looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about embarking on discovery, development, and manufacturing of new molecules, developing new genetic technologies, and who feel comfortable working in a collaborative small-company environment. This brings with it the excitement of being part of a small, close-knit group, participating in innovative genetic and molecular evolution projects and having opportunities to contribute broadly to the company’s R&D programs, technology, and business. This position is a full-time, salaried position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior scientists and other key personnel to conduct hands-on laboratory experiments involving the manipulation of nucleic acids, proteins and/or cells focused on specific project outcomes.
  • Learn and employ a range of molecular, biochemical and/or cell biology techniques which may include:
  • PCR
  • Plasmid design and construction
  • DNA and RNA isolation
  • Protein expression and purification
    in vitro transcription
  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Ultra-high-throughput screening
  • Maintain experimental notes within an electronic lab notebook environment
  • Collaborate effectively within a small, dedicated team environment, contributing broadly to our R&D efforts, technological advancements, and business objectives


  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology or a related field.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment in industrial biotechnology R&D is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A motivated individual passionate about biotechnology innovation and eager to contribute to the discovery, development, and manufacturing of mRNA-based therapeutics.
